I guess that for most of you, today is the last day of the Winter holidays, isn’t it? How has it been? Did you enjoy yourself?
Today, I want to write about the Tim Burton Exhibition which I went with my friend on December 31st.
Tim Burton is not only a film director, but also a producer, artist and a writer! He is known for such films as Nightmare before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Corpsebride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and a lot more.
What surprised me and impressed me the most was that he was a true entertainer, always trying to make everyone around him happy(^-^)
Did you know that he made special original photo albums for the staffs every time the shooting of a film was finished?
Some of them were on exhibition, but the seventy-something-pages albums were full of fun pictures and illustrations… and the pictures included those of catering staffs and construction staffs as well. I had never known a film director who was so attentive and caring, making and giving such a sweet gift to every one of the staffs engaged in the film making.
I really enjoyed his wonderful art pieces, but that was actually the most impressive thing for me. He is such a good fellow! I came to like him so much personally.
It’s always happy to be appreciated for what you have done, isn’t it?
Appreciateには、「感謝する」という意味の他に「真価を評価する」という意味があります。「I really appreciate your work」と言われたら、ただの「君の仕事には感謝してるよ」だけでなく、「評価しているよ」という意味も含まれるということです。嬉しさも倍増ですね(^-^)この言葉、奥が深くてけっこう好きです。
